Five Boro Bike Tour: Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

New York’s Five Boro Bike Tour is the largest recreational cycling event in the United States. Every year on the first Sunday of May, over 30,000 riders participate in the 42 mile ride around New York City. The route, closed to automobile traffic, takes riders through all five boroughs of New York City, across five major bridges, and finally across New York Harbor on the Staten Island Ferry.

Transportation Alternatives’ Crash Stat Map

Transportation Alternatives has launched a new and improved version of their Crash Stat Map that now uses Google maps and includes data from 2004 and 2005. The location of accidents and fatalities involving bicycles are mapped city wide and this tool can be used to let you know what streets and intersections to avoid or be extra cautious when using.
