Gran Fondo New York 2014 – Sunday May 18th

The Gran Fondo New York offers riders a challenging 100 mile route with 8,000 feet of climbing, including a climb up Bear Mountain. The ride is in the style of European cyclosportives, which is not a race, but includes a number of timed climbs and prizes for the fastest cyclists. The 2014 Gran Fondo New York will be held on Sunday, May 18th 2014.

Gran Fondo New York starts on the George Washington Bridge and rides North following Hudson River upstream on rural roads and through scenic towns.  Riders will compete against each other and themselves on timed climbs which will count towards the King and Queen of Mountain competition. The featured climb of the event and Cima Coppi (highest point of the ride) is the nearly four mile climb up to Bear Mountain in Harriman State Park. After descending, the course will wind its way back, hitting more timed climbs before finishing in Weehawken with stunning NYC views. More details at GranFondoNY.com.
