leaving the path at elmsford, make a left on n. central, follow that all the way down till you get to beaver hill rd.on the other side of beaver hill rd is warehouse lane which is where i believe you were at .anyway ,follow warehouse lane ALL the way to the end ,behind the ups or is it fed ex? loading docks at the back of the docks the path begins anew..OH dude i wrote this not realizing looking i think you want to go to go downtown to ny instead of uptown to brewster and now im too lazy to start over so once you leave the industrial park which is warehouse lane[beaver hill on the other side ]..make a right on n.central which has actually turned into n.saw mill river rd. before morphing back into n,central again going south i presume which should be back to elmsford.the path itself is right on the main drag on in Elmsford .on n.central where the big clock is located across the street is an opening to the path .you have to jump on the sidewalk as it is pushed in ,lined up with the stores so it is a bit hard to see if you're really not looking for it.there are also access points on n.central.just look to your right going south ,there is one or 2 but i believe no more ,so you should rally find the main drag and look for the opening in Elmsford.remember rite across the street from the town clock by prestige custom motorcycle shop.you ride right by their shop on the bike path parallel by them.....this is going back to ny ,going to brewster just reverse everything i said if. i haven't confused you yet like i think i'm doing to myself at the moment ..haha..just kiddin..myself i wonder how it is after you go pass the Croton reservoir as that is as far as I have went, being from East New York, Brooklyn and only finding out about this trail in august..anyway hope it helps not confuses ya and have happy ridings..godspeed..

Does anyone know where you go once you hit Elmsford (going south)? I ended up in an industrial type area and didn't see where the path continued south. I assume that you have to get on main roads for a bit, but it was not obvious. Thanks.

Thanks for your post. I'd like to say that the price of car insurance varies from one insurance plan to another, mainly because there are so many different facets which play a role in the overall cost. Such as, the model and make of the motor vehicle will have an enormous bearing on the purchase price. A reliable older family automobile will have a lower priced premium compared to a flashy expensive car.

Do You Ride the Trails?
I'm looking to talk with people who ride the North and South County Trailways in Westchester. I am a reporter at The Journal News, covering Westchester and Putnam counties, and I'm writing about the trails from the Bronx-Westchester line to Carmel in Putnam.
If you ride the trail and wouldn't mind talk to me about it for my article, please call me at 914-696-8255 or write me at klvalent@lohud.com.
Thanks.

This is awesome. I found this page a few weeks ago when looking for updated map for NYC Century ride. I rode 2004, 2005 and 2008 editions. So, today I hit it solo and enjoyed nice round trip ride (84 miles) from my home in Weehawken to Croton Reservoir. What a ride!!! I started at noon and had to turn around at the reservoir but next time I try to make to the end. It could be a nice 100-miler;)

I have a few pictures from today posted on flickr. Enjoy;)

Happynewyorker --

Best short section for family might be Kitchawan to Yorktown Heights, crossing the Croton Reservoir. Park in Kitchawan (side road off Rt 100, where path is right next to Rt 100) or I think you can park right in Yorktown Heights where path goes through town. Official pdf map has all the parking locations. http://www.westchestergov.com/PARKS/SideBar/Trailways.htm

Hello!! I'm planning a trip for my family to go bike riding. I found out that Bike riding is not allowed at Rockefeller state park and found information on North County Trailways. My daughter is 5 1/2 a bike with training wheels. What part of the trails do you recommend? Should we drive up north or stay lower. We are in Bronxville/Yonkers area. I have no problem driving up north, but looking for suggestions more for my daughter since she will be biking it. Then when u provide the information can you provide locations for parking, since we are not taking metro north?

Thanks a bunch,
Lee
